Last day of PDO, Good-bye Julianne party

Mailey finished her PDO class and is ready for Pre-K next year.  I don't really have a first day pic because she didn't really start at the beginning...oh well.

She was showing me how tall she is by standing on her tiptoes.  She'll be 4 in two weeks.  Too big!

The girls have begged and begged all year to go to Chuck E Cheese.  I decided we could do a final hurrah trip this week.  Julianne is off to daycare next year, and we will miss her sooooo much!  We went at 10 am to avoid crowds, and were basically the only people there.  Whew.

Another great surprise is that Kim and Ainsley joined us.  Sweet Gassiots are moving to Knoxville in a few days, and we are soaking up any and all time we can with them..Cry.

These girls had a blast!  Well, except for Ains when the huge Chuck E Cheese would walk around.  She was not a fan!
Such an unexpectedly fun end of the year party for these girls.

Blast Off!

At the end of April the kids in K-5th performed a musical at church.  We did one last year, but had all year and about an hour and a half a week to get ready.  This year we had one semester and 20-30 minutes a week.  YIKES. I was in charge of K-2 with some other amazing ladies.  Let's all remember I taught 4th and 5th for a reason!! Ha!  The kids are soooo very sweet and we had a great time, albeit stressful, trying to help these kids learn the words and worship and have fun.

Here are 2 planets, a red star, and 2 sisters. Or Wesley, Paul, Brian, Sophie, and Makenna

Makenna was a main part again.  They try and use the older kiddos in the Preteen Ministry for those each year.  She was very nervous and excited at the same time.

They were 4 kids ready for Space Camp the next morning. They fell asleep and dreamed they were astronauts that had lifted off into space.  They learned about what the Bible says about the creation of the world.  It was very cool to listen to the first Apollo mission transmission back to earth.  Did you know the astronaut quoted Genesis 1:1 for the world to hear?  Up in space, seeing the vastness, he recognized that God created it all.  So great.

Here is Mak singing her solo!  Wooohoooo!

Blurry, but had to include the planets.  Hilarity!

This one was sooo glad for it to be over. So glad he plopped down and started reading a book.  Oh my.

Makenna, Madison, and Sophie

So much fun!!!

Oh and one of the sweet stars behind the main characters got sick.  Puked her guts out all in front of her off their stage onto the floor behind Makenna.  The child who lives in constant fear of puking.  Oh my!! It was classic and horrible all at the same time.  I didn't even see it happen, but some other moms were just waiting for Mak to run off the stage!  She kept on going and did a great job, all while puke was covering the floor behind her.  Amazing.  Gross, I know, but I wanted to remember that she made it through!

Last Talent Show

Lynsey and Makenna were in the same first grade class, and have been best buds ever since.  They hula hooped in the Talent Show in 2nd and 3rd grade, and tried out and made it in 4th grade.  Lynsey then broke her leg, so they had to wait until this year to perform again.  The last show was so good!  All the kids really did a great job, and the Duck Dynasty hilarity in between was priceless. I cannot believe this is the last week of elementary school for Mak.

Sweet Marleigh waiting to play piano and Makenna...both look super excited, huh?

Our principal is really just amazing. We love her!  She was all into the DD theme.

Here are some hilarious teachers hosting the show.
Makenna and Lynsey doing their thing.  This year was the first year they wanted zero help from anyone, but I think it was cute and we are super proud!

Buddy Day and a Masters of Occupational Therapy

Makenna had her last Buddy Day in elementary.  It was hot, and let's just say that Buddy Day at their school is not so great.  A few stations, no one even does them, and kids in 3 grades basically roaming for 2 hours on the playground.  Fun for free time, but no organization.  It makes me sad every year and could be sooo much more for these kiddos!  But hey, I'm not I charge. :)

When I watched Tracen he played one game and then just walked around. Oh well!

Highlight of the morning was seeing Syd. She is moving in a few weeks, and it is going to be soooo hard missing those Gassiots in my life. ugh.

Yesterday on May 20, Erica graduated from Tech with her Masters in Occupational Therapy.  She is the youngest cuz, which I was so excited about because that means no more graduations to sit through!! Haha. Being the oldest cousin means I have sat through a lot.  Whew.

Guns up!

Ryan and Auntnie, with Derrick's mom Debra and Derrick

Derrica.  Ha could not resist.

Auntnie and Uncle Milt with their baby.

Ash, me, and 2 toddlers who did great sitting through 2+ hours of names.

So proud of all she has done. This girl sets out to do something, then does it with flying colors and a 4.0.  She will be great at being an OT. Wooohoooo!
