Spring Break: Rainforest Cafe and Good-byes

Our last day after Sharkarosa we went to Grapevine Mills Mall to get on the ridiculously long list for Rainforest Cafe.  My kids have never been...mainly because we never get on the list in time, call in time, or remember the kids eat free night.  Though it wasn't a kids eat free, we got on the list for a reasonable 6-7pm time frame.  They rode the train while we were waiting.

Mailey sat by the actual rain, and her seat was pretty wet.  She thought that was super cool.  She also loooved her ballon orange ladybug.

Archer was ok with all the loud noises and lights and animal screeching, but the air from the balloon freaked him out!

Mak and T had to sit with Mim and Pop, and came over to hang out afterwards.

Then it was time for good-byes.  We left the next morning for the flatlands, and the weather matched.  Coooooold. Still waiting for SPRING, but had a wonderful trip!

Spring Break: Sharkarosa

Marc heard of a great little zoo/safari place not far away called Sharkerosa.  Very odd name...but Dad found out the Shark guy who owns convenience stores is the one who owns this land and place.  Some of Sharkerosa has been on Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.  I think "Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe" featured the lemurs?  Anywhooo, we went and Mom and Dad met us there.  It was such a great place and we all had a ton of fun.  Not too big, not too crazy, and not really crowded.

First off was the petting zoo. Like every petting zoo, there are some animals that kinda attack you.  Archer was just a little fan of what was going on in there.  One goat butted Mailey, and she just pushed it back.  Maybe a little fear would be good?  But she got the job done.

A goatie on the picnic table was much safer for everyone.  Too cute.

This was a baby kangaroo in a little fleece pouch.  Kids thought that was so neat.

Of course there is a little train like most farmy places, but they liked it.  The driver drove all crazy and played the "Move It" song from "Madagascar."

Next it was time for the 40 minute safari.  We were all freezing!  Since we had burned the day before, we assumed the temp and sun would equal warmth.  Oh no.  Wind from the North was freezing our tails off!

First horse encounter.  They had many kinds, lots of rescues, and they came right up and ate out of the buckets and you could pet them.

This crazy business is a zorse.  There was also a dezonk.  I am not even sure those are ok to have?  Ha!  But they looked super cool and were very gentle.

Camels.  All I can say is gag.  They are kinda gross and stinky and slimy and gross.

This part had real zebras and various deer, some endangered, and emus and llama things.

More camels.  They ate from the buckets, too, and we were ready to move on!

So cute! Mailey looooved petting the baby kangaroo and made the whole line wait bc she just could not stop.  Look at that face of happiness.

The last part was very interesting.  These are 2 bears they rescued.  They did a presentation with them, mostly sitting at a picnic table and doing different things.  Sharkarosa is famous for these bears and the work they do with them.

We ate at a pizza place looking over the bear enclosure, and the pizza was great.  Such a fun trip that just took a morning.  Everyone had so much fun!

Spring Break: Archer and Park Sunburns

On Thursday we headed to Corinth to visit Marc, Sarah, and Archer. The kids loved playing and seeing all the new things Archer was doing. When Archer is about to get in trouble for something, he says in this super surprised voice, "Oh no! I don't like 'pankins!"  He still smiles the whole time and likes to say each of our names.  Awissa, Akenna, Tacen, MayMay. So cute!

We went to a park somewhere...I think Flower Mound??  It was fun and had some great climbing and play structures.  We had a picnic lunch and then played in the fields and went walking on the trail.

I only put this blurry pic in bc of the hair.  I put Mailey's hair up bc it was warm and I wanted to keep it out of her face.  Look at humidity plus Mailey hairs?!!  Oh goodness.

Tracen again was not too excited about playing.  We are always having conversations about not eating only cereal and suger based things for breakfast.  I rarely buy things in many packages, though Tyson loooooves cereal and loooooooves to buy it.  Tracen had only eaten cereal that morning and was starving to death.  He couldn't even play because of being sad about not eating lunch yet.

Archer loves Thomas, so I guess a train was close enough.

They loved this huge swing!

Mailey thinks that if Archer has his thumb in his mouth she needs to do the same.

Rock climbing was more entertaining than the actual playground.

Bad influence.

Cute Cousins

At the end of the afternoon, the kids were protected by the sunscreen us responsible mommy's put on them...while the responsible mommys were FRIED because we forgot ourselves.  Awesome first tan lines. Yay for Sarah finding us this park and for the rock adventures!

Spring Break: Bocce Ball and Kamry Elaine

On Wednesday we headed to Sun City Georgetown, TX to see Grandma and Grandad for the day.  So great that they live under an hour from Mim and Pop.  My parents came to see their new house and have some fun.  We had a great lunch, rode the golf cart, opened Easter baskets early since we lost our snow day-grrrr, fished, and played outside.  They were super nice for letting us barge in for the day, and we all loved seeing them!

After asking a few "pros" at the court, we figured out bocce ball and played together.  It was so fun, and the girl team killed the boys.  Woohoo!  Mailey had to go on some side walks and adventures during the game to see the fish.  I guess 3 year olds are not that into bocce ball.

We also saw Granny a lot during this trip, but I didn't take a single pic out there.  Not good.

I also got to finally meet my bff's new baby girl Kamry Elaine!!! She was so sweet and had such black hair and big eyes.  So sad, but I didn't get any pics of big sister Kate!  Ugh.  Mailey wanted to know if Kate was still Baby Kate like she always calls her.  Like my Mailey baby, I guess getting older means you stop calling them that...but I they are still our babies.

A little smile to end the visit!
